My breast is cold, you must hold me close. Yes, you must.” And in this dark place, high upon Bredon Hill, a fine rain setting free one moment to become still, timeless joy. Her voice held the moistened perfume I knew well, and meanings of words I knew not, not yet. Woman, who is the sanctuary, who is my protector, and bathed in feelings myriad. And the wings of the birds above her, their fluttering accent of night. “The space is never vacant of me,” came her moistened whisper. “I am for you to love, as love is all and all, is me.”  (c) Callassa

Callassa. ‘She Bird Song. Extracts‘

Post Script

These are extracts from our large work ‘She Bird Song’ which does comprise both prose and verse. In its entirety it is the female who resides at the core. It is also a revivalist work in that essentially, in completeness and in its power to intoxicate, it is intended to blend with the whispers of our English forebears and who did revere same.
