HAIR LOSS ROCK STAR LOCKS David Mario Callan
This is an article I was asked to write which is destined for additions and possible/likely rerwrites. Firstly it's prudent to state that this is an account from my personal experience on the topic and that I have no qualifications in this area nor am I selling anything. Secondly, as with everything, there will be those who disagree which is fine but the adage, the proof is in the eating, holds firm. It's not a scientifically conducted study. You could say it's a few pages from my diary. Want to read it? Hair loss in my opinion can't be approached from merely one perspective, ie. there is more than one issue to approach and of course these issues overlap. What prompted me to write this was after I became aware of how much interest there is on the topic throughout the world and I am constantly being asked about my own hair, like how come I have so much of it. So here goes. When I was twenty- five I started to lose my hair and I can remember when a hairdresser pointed this out and advised that I should hurry up and get married. This bothered me just as it bothers people generally, those who are affected by baldness and its onset. Now I am fifty-four and I have waist length hair which my wife often gets tangled up in during the night. I have the kind of job that allows certain personal idiosyncracies of appearance (I am MD of Callassa Media Company Ltd). At the age of twenty-five I realized that I had to adopt a very different lifestyle. I can remember sitting in a bath one night in a hotel after eating steak and drinking champage and wine and feeling terrible. I had to lose body weight and obviously stop losing my hair which I was doing. So what did I do? I have to say that there is something that supports the whole and at the time this meant cutting out all the junk and telling myself that I was in control, I was the one who would choose what direction to take. I stopped eating meat and all meat by products including eggs and milk. I stopped having anything that contained GROWTH HORMONE. In other words what I did was to lower my body testosterone by not adding to through ingesting it via food. Testosterone in my opinion is what prompts hair loss (as well as BPH) so limiting its presence as much as possible has to have an effect. Well it did and almost immediately because the diet I adopted through necessity was the underlying factor for overall good health and importantly, it stopped the hair loss. As stated, most won't like the idea of not eating meat products and argue the thesis but it worked for me and I have never regretted this decision. There is no glamor associated with obesity and baldness but if it's not so important an issue then that's fine. If it is an issue, then it's worth considering because it's free. I get girls in their early twenties chatting me up and have a wardrobe of clothes that cost over 100k only because this was my payment to myself. When you start looking good you feel inclined to splash out and keep doing it. The feeling never stops, believe me. When I said that there is a whole array of issues to consider, well this is true and I have an attitude toward the 'one shot cure' that people are asked to pay for. A lifestyle change is complicated and a severe intervention and claiming that one thing is the answer does not hold much water for me personally. A lifestyle change is about you not anyone else unless they want to experience it with you. It's your own time and has to be for always. There is no reverting back to old habits nor having the occasional binge. This is total committment and anything less will ruin any gains made. It's not easy, in fact I would say that most won't stay the course in the unfaltering way that is the requirement. This is because there is so much out there to tempt you away, I mean practically everywhere you look there are fast food junk outlets, stores packed with junk, advertisements featuring junk, advice that comes from who knows where. You are likely to be alone with this, but is that condition just wonderful? Well, don't you think? To be different than the rest? To be looking better than the rest? So just briefly to summarize: NO MEAT OR MEAT BYPRODUCTS meaning absolutely everything of that nature. ORGANIC LOW FAT, WHOLE GRAIN FOOD ONLY Take vitamin: multi, B complex, B12, E, Kelp, iron slow release alternate days Use whey and or soy protein Start walking. Workout by all means but gently if it's the first time. Ignore most of what you see and hear because it won't accord with your new lifestyle. You cannot drink alcohol. Drink water ideally with electrolytes. Easy on the sugar, ideally little to none Oils and fats make you fat too. The overriding intention is to rid your system of all traces of meat, ie. blood product (growth hormone and its variants together with everything that comes with it) and as this transpires the changes you will see in yourself will act as reinforcement. ie. You will become your own inspiration. (There is nothing wrong with a little narcissm because in my opinion it's owed). What changes you might well ask? You'll lose weight. I noticed this immediately and so did others. Your hair will begin to look fuller. Buy a wide toothed comb and run this across your scalp a few times per day. Try bending forward as though you are trying to touch your toes. Relax, allow your head to hang lose and as it is so, gently and slowly move it (your head) from side to side. Never let the sun burn your head. Don't use harsh chemical shampoos. Use chamomile. If you are wondering about physical strength and stamina start doing things that enable you to track your progress, your own improvements. You don't need to worry about strength because a counter question would be : Do you really think eating fast food makes you strong? The killers of the era are coronary heart/artery disease, colon cancer and in men, prostate issues including cancer. I don't want to get into this nor should I, but any program that takes away the precursors has to be a good thing. Don't you think? If you are a man and suffer prostate enlargement and its symptoms the medication you'll get is basically intended to lower your testosterone. I don't want to suggest that it's chemical castration called something else, but think about what veterinary surgeons advise when dogs have enlarged prostate glands. We began by talking about hair loss. Well I haven't lost any hair for thirty years and I can do everything I could while in my twenties solely because I adhere to the program. I have two brothers who are bald, so was my father and grandfather before him. None of them did anything like the above. What's this getting old thing anyway? Why is it few don't appear old and most do? I haven't the answer to that question, or if I wanted to attempt it, it would take forever so I'll just mention that being out of shape (being fat), balding and middle-aged is hard to correlate with glamor, with being desirable to the opposite sex. Some will disagree. OK, money is a factor in that equation. What if you don't have wealth which is the case for most people? It would seem appropriate to at least appear like those you constantly see in the media, I would say. Also, for this to be the case without spending lots of money has to be an attractive proposition. Actually this should save you money because you won't be spending it on food that makes your hair literally leave your head and further, it appears that the more you spend on food the worse it gets....Think about who gains in the long run. More to come including hair photographs! All the best. David Mario Callan |
