There were large butterflies, blue and yellow. She had
dressed in black and with a large, scarlet red carnation.
The tips of my fingers were upon her face. Beautiful and
tender she. I could feel the misted rain upon her and it
was collecting as droplets on the surface of her hair.
I pondered over the message in her eyes, no longer dormant
as they looked down at me. I acquiesced in the beginning
hint of a smile and the shifting of her bright lips toward
my face. I closed my eyes and met her in a kiss. I trembled.
I began to glide in her breath, into the quick of night.
The elevation. The wild wings. The stirring shade. The
crest of grief. The living for beauty. The always desiring
and the forever sought. The she-bird and her moonlight
dust. Her limbs in the sky. The flocks of tears.
I opened my eyes to hers, deep brown, intensely brooding.
Another kiss, this, quivvering, gentle and short lasting.
Her fingers were upon my neck. Her feathered voice become
agitated. "We should go," she said. I followed the sensation
of her hands as she moved over my shoulders and tightened
there. I waited to clasp them, to clasp the she-bird's
ringed flames. The doors of death were open. Therein, the
feminine sanctity. The beauty and the beyond in the home of
the naked. The she-bird. The fusing into her quickly dimming
face......
